Vegetables, and lots of them

At Waxwing Farm, we grow more than 40 different kinds of vegetables. We focus mostly on familiar crops like lettuce, tomatoes, cucmbers, broccoli, and onions, to name a few. However, we like to keep things interesting for ourselves and our members. Along with our staple vegetables, you'll also see more unique varieties like bok choy, eggplant, and radicchio, among others. We work to have each vegetable available for as long as possible, but each crop thrives at a particular time of year - peas in the spring, peppers in the summer, and sweet potatoes in the fall, for example. Box contents will change week to week, and no two seasons are exactly the same.

a unique eating experience

As a CSA member, you'll learn to eat with the seasons and test your creativity in the kitchen. You should expect to adjust your meal planning based on what arrives in your box and spend more time cooking during the growing season. Thankfully, we're here to help with that! Before your box arrives each week, you'll receive a newsletter with a box list, storage/preserving tips and recipes featuring the week's vegetables. If you use social media, you can also search #waxwingeats to see what other members are making with their produce from that week. A juicer can also be a worthwhile investment. Whatever you do, get creative and share it with our community so we all can make the most of our growing season!
