Your Farmers

We are Anna Racer and Pete Skold and we own and operate Waxwing Farm.

We both came to farming from a wide variety of experiences. Anna's background is in Italian, customer service, and education while Pete's is in carpentry and chemistry. We met while working at YMCA Camp Widjiwagan in Northern Minnesota, leading wilderness trips for young people. 

From leading trips and spending long weeks in the wilderness, we both developed our land ethic and fell in love with working outdoors. For us, farming was a natural way to settle down and continue to live out our values. After working on other farms for a few years, we struck out on our own in 2011.

2024 will be our fourteenth growing season as Waxwing Farm

Farming provides us a way to share our passion with others. We love growing food, caring for our small piece of the world, and nourishing our community. We are proud to be your farmers.
